Hulu has announced that it has signed on A+E Networks to its upcoming live streaming TV service. Hulu made the announcement in a press release, saying that the network joins the ever-growing package of 40 live channels set to launch this spring… Specifically, Hulu has gained access to live and on-demand streaming of A&E, History, Lifetime, LMN, KYITM, and Viceland. Pete Distad, who was previously SVP of Marketing and Distribution at Hulu, has officially started his new role as VP of Product Marketing at Apple this month, according to a change to Distad’s LinkedIn page over the last week. Hulu’s executive bios page appears to be down as well, possibly while it’s updated to remove Distad’s bio. In a report from Bloomberg, HTC has apparently filed claims of patent infringement against Apple after acquiring patents from Google last week. The patents were apparently snatched up by Google sometime over the last year from the original owners including Motorola Inc., Palm Inc., and Openwave Systems Inc. According to the US Patent and Trademark Office, they were then transferred by Google to HTC on September 1st. Six days after acquiring the nine patents, HTC today filed a suit in Delaware against Apple claiming patent infringement on four of the patents (originally issued to Motorola) that they acquired from Google....

iFixit is out with its Retina MacBook Air teardown. While there are some notable repairability improvements, Apple’s latest notebook got its lowest marks for non-serviceable, non-replaceable RAM and storage. We heard yesterday that the new MacBook Air doesn’t require the entire top case to be replaced when swapping out the battery. Season 2 of Hulu horror anthology series Castle Rock will expand the scope of its Stephen King source material to include Jerusalem’s Lot, the setting of vampire novel ‘Salem’s Lot. The upcoming season will begin a new story, starring Tim Robbins, Garret Hedlund, and Elsie Fisher, with Lizzy Caplan playing infamous fangirl Annie Wilkes from King’s novel Misery.
