The HTC U11 handset was launched back in 2017 with flagship specifications worldwide. After almost two years, HTC has released the latest Android 9.0 Pie update to this device on May this year. First, the update was released in Taiwan region and HTC U11 receives Android Pie in Europe now. The Taiwanese smartphone brand brings the latest Android 9 Pie version with all the goodies.

HTC U11 came with Snapdragon 835 SoC, coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. It’s paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 1TB via a MicroSD card. The device was available in Single-SIM, Dual-SIM, USA, and Sprint variant. It came with a 5.5-inch Super LCD5 Quad-HD touch display with 1440×2560 pixels resolution quality. The handset launched with Android 7.1 Nougat which is upgradable up to Android 9.0 Pie. Currently, the device is receiving the latest Pie update in various variants.

It has a 12MP rear camera with dual-pixel PDAF, f/1.7 aperture lens, 5-axis OIS, etc. While the front camera features a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The device packs a non-removable Li-Ion 3,000 mAh battery with an 18W fast charging support. All other major connectivity and sensors are available on this device.

HTC U11 Android Pie Update: Changelog

The software update comes with the software version number 3.31.401.1 along with a size of 1.31GB. It offers most of the Android Pie core features and some of the system improvements as well. After the closure of Google+ service, HTC also removes Google+ from its BlinkFeed. In terms of the Android Pie core features, it includes Digital Wellbeing, Swipe Gesture, Volume Slider, Rotation Lock icon, etc. Additionally, it offers App Action, App Timer, App Timer, new Notification panel, new Lock screen, Recent UI, Adaptive Battery & Brightness, and more.

Check for OTA Updates Manually

The OTA update is in an incremental process and may take some time to roll out globally. If you’re using the Europe variant, you will soon get the latest update. Currently, the OTA update rolling out in Switzerland, Belgium, and Italy region.

In case, if you’re living in any other country, you should have to wait for the official roll-out process. However, you can check for the OTA updates manually on your handset. In order to do this:

  • From the Home screen, swipe up and then find and tap on Settings.
  • Then tap on About > Software updates.
  • Next, tap on Check now.
  • If the update is available on your device, just download and install the software update.
  • In order to save the data usage, you can choose to update through Wi-Fi only option.
