On the other hand, EMUI 11 is equipped with an advanced earthquake warning system that shows a pop up and buzzes the alarm before an earthquake arrives. It also shows emergency shelter and medical facilities to cope up with any injuries and others. Also, a teased feature that allows devices to reach up to 66W max charging speed was recently spotted on a EMUI 11 video that apparently is no longer accessible. Update as of September 9: Earlier today, Google launched its much-anticipated Android 11 globally. However, Huawei hasn’t been a part of its developer preview even though it has a string of high-caliber devices. Even though it is said to be rolling out HarmonyOS-based EMUI 11, the Android 11 is likely to stay. The company is slated to launch both EMUI 11 and Magic UI 4.0 (both based on Android 10 given that Android 11 source code is not available yet) at the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC), a day after Android 11 went live. Huawei Mate 40 series will be the first device to arrive with EMUI 11.
Huawei even posted a teaser teasing its revamped UI. Huawei plans to roll out EMUI 11/Magic UI 4.0 as beta on limited devices for testing. This is to ensure that no major bug is left untreated before the stable version is pushed. As with any other Chinese OEM, Huawei will release the beta update for Chinese variants followed by other regions.
Huawei has found its own way after getting banned by the US government and Google for using its services. The company launched back in 2019, it first set of devices, i.e. the Huawei Mate 30 series that came without the Google Service Core and instead, used the Huawei Services Core. This means that no Google apps like YouTube, Google Assistant, Play Store, Maps, etc. came pre-installed on the devices. Surprisingly, Huawei went ahead with the Android 10 operating system instead of its HarmonyOS which was touted to be Huawei’s replacement of Android.
Now, the Chinese OEM has been releasing the EMUI 10 (Android 10) updates for its compatible devices and we as tech enthusiasts are already looking forward to the next iteration of the EMUI, i.e. the EMUI 11 which be based on the Android 11 OS. Note that currently, EMUI 11/Magic UI 4.0 is based on Android 10 since the source code for Android 11 was only made available recently. Moreover, it will be interesting to see whether Huawei would bring in the Android 11 OS on board or the HarmonyOS for its devices to power the EMUI 11. In this post, we will give all the latest news related to EMUI 11 and Huawei devices that will support EMUI 11.
