At the IFA 2018 event, Huawei teased the successor of 2016 launched Honor Magic smartphone, called Honor Magic 2. The company already confirmed the launch date of the phone, the company holding a launch event in China on October 31st for the Huawei Honor Magic 2. This is the first Honor brand smartphone that powered the latest Kirin 980 processor under the hood. The two variants of the phone already appeared on TENAA and MIIT certification websites. Now the phone appeared on Geekbench benchmark too.
According to the Geekbench benchmark website, Honor Magic 2 appeared with Huawei TNY-AL00 model number. The listing confirms again that the phone will be powered by Kirin 980 7nm processor under the hood. The company recently launched Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20X flagship smartphones which also powered by Kirin 980 processor. The Magic 2 phone will be the first Huawei sub brand honor smartphone that powered by Kirin 980 chipset which developed by Hisilicon.
According to Geekbench, Honor Magic 2 has 8 GB of RAM. According to TENAA listing, there is another variant of the phone that will come with 6 Gb of RAM and 128 Gb internal storage. The Huawei Honor Magic 2 runs on Google latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system along with the company EMUI 9 custom UI running on top just like the Huawei Mate 20. The phone scored 3,316 points in single core test and 9,534 points in multi core test.
Earlier, Huawei Honor magic 2 variants with TNY-AL00 and TNY-TL00 model numbers Certified by TENAA and MIIT. According to TENAA, Honor Magic 2 will have 6.39-inch AMOLED display panel that will support 1080 x 2340 pixels of resolution and offer tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone will offer nearly 100% screen to body ratio, thanks to the slide out selfie camera design. The body dimensions of the phone are 157.32 x 75.13 x 8.3 mm and it weighs 206 grams.
In terms of RAM and ROM, the Huawei TNY-AL00 model number Honor Magic 2 will available in two RAM and ROM variant. One will have 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB internal storage and other will have 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB internal storage option. On the other hand, the TNY-TL00 model number Honor Magic 2 will come with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage.
In terms of photography, The Honor Magic 2 will be featured with triple camera sensors on the back side along with LED flash. There are 16-megapixel, 24-megapixel and 16megapixel camera sensors. On the front side, there will be a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The selfie camera will come with two TOF lenses to enable 3D facial recognition. The phone also expected to come with in display fingerprint scanner. It will have 3,400 mAh capacity battery inside the body which supports 40W SuperCharge technology for fast charging.
In terms of connectivity, the phone will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, USB Type C and dual SIM card. unfortunately, there will be no 3.5 mm audio jack port in Honor Magic 2. The phone will run on Android 9.0 Pie operating system along with EMUI 9 UI running on top.
