Huawei Honor Play looks pretty good in design. The body dimensions of the phone are 157.9 x 74.3 x 7.5 mm and weighs 176 grams. The phone is available in two color option, Midnight Black and Navy Blue. It comes with 6.3-inch IPS display that supports 1080 x 2340 pixels of resolution and offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone also offers 85% NTSC color gamut. The Honor Play offers around 83.0% screen-to-body ratio and supports 409 PPI density ratio.
The Honor Play is powered by Dual Quad-core CPU under the hood which clocks at different clock speeds. The first Quad-Core CPU clocks at 2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 and the second Quad-Core CPU clocks at 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53. On the board, there is a Huawei‘s Hisilicon Kirin 970 10nm chipset present. For the better graphics experience, the phone has Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. The Honor Play available two RAM variants, one comes with 4 GB RAM and other comes with 6 GB of RAM. Both the variants have same 64 GB internal storage along with micro SD card slot on board that supports up to 256 GB external storage.
Huawei sub-brand Honor Play smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box along with EMUI 8.2 UI running on top. It packed with 3,750mAh capacity battery inside the body which comes with 18W fast charging charger support. The phone featured with dual camera sensors on the back side along with LED flash, AI features and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). There is a 16-megapixel main camera with f/2.2 aperture and 2-megapixel secondary camera with a f/2.4 aperture on the back side. On the front side, there is a 16-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.
One of the main highlighted points of the phone is GPU technology. This is the first Honor brand smartphone that comes with GPU Technology on board. The company said that this tech will increase graphics performance by up to 60% and reduce the battery consumption by up to 30%. The phone also comes with 4D gaming feature which means, Honor Play will vibrate in real time when the users playing games.
