The first visible change that we can see is that there is a fourth camera at the back. Huawei has already confirmed that the fourth camera is a TOF (Time Of Flight) camera. Previously, this was not visible with the images but now, we can see the fourth camera is there on the Huawei Mate X. Another big change that we can see is that there is a bigger button to unfold the Huawei Mate X. The “Falcon Wing” mechanism and the handgrip are now covered with textured material and imitate the appearance of Carbon Fiber. However, it is not clear whether that textured material is actual carbon fiber or it is just a mimic.
Now, coming to the software part, what we can see is that there is no navigation button. This means that the Huawei Mate X will support the full-screen navigation gestures. Moreover, the screen of the device looks almost similar to the previously leaked images and we are not sure whether there are some changes in the screen quality or not. However, there is no visible slack on the screen which is a good sign.
One thing to note is that this is a Chinese version of the Huawei Mate X and not the Global version of the device. This year is the year for folding smartphones. We witnessed the unveiling of Samsung Galaxy Fold, Royole Flexpai, and the Huawei Mate X. However, the Samsung Galaxy Fold was called back by Samsung due to issues related to the display. And, the Royole Flexpai has been already launched though, it does not look like the finished product that we would like to use in day-to-day life as our daily driver. Keeping in mind all of this, Huawei Mate X launch was also delayed as Huawei did not want to deliver an unfinished product to the market, like the Galaxy Fold.
While we wait for the Huawei Mate X is yet to be launched for the users, it was recently spotted in the hands of the Huawei CEO, Richard Yu. He was spotted at the Shenzhen International Airport with his Huawei Mate X. Shutterbugs caught the Mate X in full glory and in the hands of the CEO himself. However, when Yu was asked about some details regarding the launch, he said;

The Huawei Mate X has an opposite fold than the Galaxy Fold. The Galaxy Fold folds the main screen of the device inwards thus, protecting the main screen but still, you can interact with the device using the secondary screen. However, the Huawei Mate X folds outwards exposing the main screen of the device. Many critics and Youtubers are of the opinion that the Samsung Galaxy Fold design and fold behaviour is much better as compared to the Huawei Mate X. But, that is the case of personal preference and in my opinion, it does look good in the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
