Hosted by Ant and Dec, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has become one of the most beloved television shows in the U.K., with fans eagerly awaiting the series each and every year. Once again, fans are anticipating the new season. Fans are speculating on which celebrities could be set to enter the jungle and while it’s great to see hungry celebs argue about a lack of food, tell stories from their lives, and joke around, it’s the bushtucker trials that really make this show.

Each episode will see a brand new trial as the public vote on which celebrity they hope to see take it on as they try to earn meals for camp, and throughout the history of the show there have been some absolutely disgusting and crazy trials, and within this article, we rank the top 10.

Eating

Let’s start out with one of the more obvious examples, which is the eating trial which has become popular amongst fans of the show. It now happens at least twice every year, putting the celebrities in the most horrendous situations possible.

While the theme and name are different each year, the concept is exactly the same. Here, celebrities are given vile things to eat such as a kangaroo penis, or a fish eyeball, and they must eat it in order to earn one meal for camp. Throughout the show’s history, there have been some horrible visuals and sounds come out of this task, with celebrities vomiting and spitting up which always leaves the viewer feeling slightly sick, as they laugh through it.

A Trip To The Dentist

There have been many variations of this trial as well now as the show attempts to make it harder each year for the contestants, but the actual core challenge is disgusting enough, with celebrities having to sit and hold different insects in their mouths for a set period of time. To make things harder, all the insects are alive while they do this, which obviously leads to them wriggling around and making things incredibly difficult for the celebrity to try and control without being able to use their hands or anything other than their mouth.

The visuals that are created from this trial are always absolutely hilarious with fans often screenshotting them and creating memes that stick with the celebs for life.

Snakebite

This particular trial wasn’t the hardest one that the show has ever produced, but it did create one of the craziest and scariest moments in the history of I’m A Celebrity, which was one of the only times when something actually went wrong and resulted in someone getting hurt.

Celebrities had to put their hands into a box to find a star, only inside the box was a snake, which is obviously what made things scary in this particular trial. Unfortunately for Shaun Ryder, he ended up getting to know the snake a little too well. When Ryder put his hand into the box, the snake actually bit him, and it certainly left a mark, sticking its fangs in so deep that it stuck on, taking two people to pry it from his hand which was seriously bleeding at this point.

Bed Bugs

This is another insane task that was actually an overnight one that really pushed the celebrities to their absolute limits, with several of them having to sleep inside a box that was filled with different insects and other creepy crawlies throughout the evening. The celebs had to try and stick it out for as long as they could, despite the fact that rats and other creatures ended up crawling all over them, stopping them from actually being able to sleep as they totally freaked out over each creature that was added.

While they went crazy and got upset in hysterics about what was happening inside the box, viewers at home simply got to sit back and enjoy the madness that was taking place, with Ashley Roberts, in particular, giving people a laugh.

Fill Your Face

The ‘Fill Your Face’ trial is another incredible one from the show that puts the celebrities in an incredibly claustrophobic situation, all while they have to contend with different bugs and creatures inside their bubble, making things even more difficult.

Whether it be hundreds of cockroaches or several spiders, stinging scorpions and huge snakes, the trial really does push them to the limits, creating a very tough situation for anyone who gets picked to do this particular task, which most celebrities want to avoid. One highlight from this trial saw Olympic athlete, Fatima, wind up with a cockroach actually stuck up her nostril, which required a doctor to pull it out.

Celebrity Cyclone

This might be a crazy trial, but it’s of the most fun, with all of the celebrities trying to survive on the show long enough to take part on this, which is always a team activity between the finalists.

The group have to try and place their stars on the corresponding star further up the hill, however, as with any trial, there is always a catch, with huge water cannons pushing down upon them, eventually leading to a huge tub of water sending them all back to the start. With fire blasts, big balls, and tons of water being put onto them, the group only has a small amount of time to actually achieve the goal, making this a whole lot of fun to watch.

Hold Your Breath

If you’re afraid of water, then this trial is going to give you serious anxiety to watch as the “Drown And Out” trial is one of the most difficult that the creators have ever come up with, forcing the celebrity to enter a constantly filling tank of water. The celebrity has to unscrew stars, which are placed all over while the water levels continue to rise, racing against the clock as they must continue to swim up and catch their breath before continuing back down below.

To make matters worse, there are always creatures added here to cause problems, from baby crocodiles to eels and crabs, making things just that much more intense, as if it wasn’t bad enough already.

Live Trial

Every season I’m A Celebrity hosts a live trial, giving fans the chance to watch the celebrity in action as it happens, and these trials are always random, normally combining lots of small tasks in one big trial. These are always crazy because there is so much going on and the celebrities only have a very limited amount of time to get the job done due to the fact that the show is airing live on television, and with all the campmates watching, the pressure is high.

Of course, the live trial also created what is arguably the most talked-about moment in the history of the show as Gillian McKieth “fainted” in order to get out of actually doing the trial.

Skydiving

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! doesn’t mess around when it comes to the trials, as the annual skydiving task proves, with the show making half of the group dive out of a plane into the jungle to start their adventure, which is a very tough task to start with.

Every year there is at least one celebrity who is scared of heights, which is something that everybody can relate to, and while most celebrities do end up diving out, there have been examples such as Gemma Collins, where they have opted out, simply due to being so scared.

Catacombs Of Doom

The ‘Catacombs of Doom’ trial has also proved to be very popular throughout the history of the show, forcing the celebs to head into the dark, underground and through tight spaces which are always packed full of rodents and insects.

Here the celebs must push their hands through walls into areas where they cannot see what is inside in order to find a star, with the likes of snakes, spiders, and rats always being found here, creating a very daunting experience for those who are unfortunate enough to be sent in.
