If IE9 just isn’t cutting it for you, don’t worry –because Internet Explorer 10 is already on the construction line.  Last week Microsoft released the first Platform Preview for IE10 and it brings vast improvements in CSS and layout support.  While it isn’t much to look at just yet, the Platform Preview does give us a decent idea of what the IE developer team is focused on for the next version.   A few of the key support features noted by the IE10 dev team include:

CSS3 Multi-column LayoutCSS3 Grid LayoutCSS3 Flexible Box LayoutCSS3 GradientsES5 Strict ModeCSS3 TransitionsCSS3 3D Transforms

For a preview of what it can do without actually dowloading the platform, check out the video below.  Or, you can download the Platform Preview and try it out for yourself. The IE10 team has pledged to update the platform preview at least once every 8-12 weeks.  There isn’t an estimated date for IE10, but we’re hopeful that it will ship with Windows 8. Comment
