There’s a newly-announced batch of almost half a million Nissan and Porsche vehicles with problems ranging from faulty headlights to rollaway risks, and you need to take your automobile to a dealer if it’s on the list. Read on to see which makes and models face recall and what to do next.

Nissan Titan and Frontier

The largest of the two recalls involves more than 200,000 Nissan Titan and Frontier trucks. The affected vehicles were produced from 2019 to 2022, with model years ranging from 2020 to 2023. According to a notice sent by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the vehicles have automatic transmission problems. Your vehicle may roll away after placing the shifter into Park, the NHTSA explains. For now, the affected vehicles are only the 2020-2023 Titan and Frontier trucks, but Nissan is yet to determine if any other models could have the same problem. Remedy: There is no fix for the issue yet, and Nissan will notify owners when there is. In the meantime, the manufacturer urges you to use the parking brake whenever you park your vehicle. Don’t rely on the transmission’s “Park” function. For more information, contact Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261 or leave a message at nissanusa.com/contact-us. Porsche Cayenne, Cayman S, Panamera and Macan

The second recall is less dangerous than the Nissan one but still severe enough to warrant a recall. It spans four Porsche models made over the last 17 years and includes over 190,000 vehicles. The problem is a missing cover on the headlight adjustment screw, making it easy for the headlights to become misaligned, the NHTSA notice states. Affected vehicles include the Porsche Cayenne, Cayman S, Panamera and Macan models produced between 2003 and 2020. The headlights still function without the cap. Owners can adjust the lights beyond what they were designed for. However, this can cause glare for other drivers, which raises the risk of a crash. Remedy: If you drive any recalled models, take your vehicle to a Porsche dealer for inspection. They will install missing caps as necessary, free of charge.
